500 additional funded places for Hospitality Modern Apprenticeships

Congratulations to People 1st! After a determined campaign, People1st(Sector Skills Council) have succeeded in securing 500 additional funded places for Hospitality Modern Apprenticeships. These represent approximately 200 Chefs and 300 in Hospitality Supervision with no restriction on age. Skills Development Scotland has now asked for providers to contract for these places. We would urge you to respond to them as soon as possible. The deadline is the 19th August.
This is an opportunity to demonstrate the demand from the sector. The uptake of these places will indicate to the Government how many the sector will need next year. It is vital that the demand articulated through the consultation with providers and employers is demonstrated by numbers.

If you need any assistance in providing information for your rationale on the submission or labour market research please contact People 1st.
If anyone requires support with this they are happy to help – Phone Lorraine Birrell on 0131 6540687 or Kate Tetley on 01463 871756.
