An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Senior Environmental Health Officers to be appointed to posts within Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Services based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. The posts will be placed within both the Business Regulation Team/Public Health Team within Climate, Roads and Public Protection.
You will undertake a full range of Environmental Health duties including Food Law inspections, Occupational Health and Safety, Infectious Disease, Public Health, Noise Control, Air Quality, Statutory Nuisance, Housing, Water Quality and Licensing. You will take on a Lead Officer role, including supervision and work allocation to Officers within the team.
You will support the Environmental Health Managers in forging strong relationships with other Services in Renfrewshire Council as well as Elected Members and external partners such as Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
You must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and be able to work as part of a team as well as working on your own initiative with minimum supervision. You must also be able to deal with the public.
It is essential you have effective reporting, IT skills and effective communication skills to advise and explain relevant issues, but also to follow them through to conclusion, sometimes with legal enforcement action.
You must hold a Degree in Environmental Health and the Diploma in Environmental Health issued by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (or equivalent qualifications)
Extended experience within an Environmental Health Service, including food law; health and Safety and Public Health enforcement and relevant experience in dealing with complex and challenging work within Environmental Health is essential.
