Following the previous post holders successful promotion to a Head of Service role, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual within the Public Protection service. As Regulatory and Enforcement Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the priorities of the Council are met and key services are developed and delivered that build capacity, support and protect the communities of Renfrewshire. Reporting to the Head of Public Protection you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of effective and efficient Regulatory Services across Renfrewshire, including Food Safety, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Port Health and Public Health and for developing services delivered through Renfrewshire Community Safety Partnership including Community Wardens, Investigation, Mediation and CCTV services, and the operation of the new Renfrewshire Community Safety Partnership Hub and CCTV control room which has recently been opened. You will support the Head of Public Protection in forging strong and effective partnerships and working relationships with Elected Members, senior officers, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue and other community planning partners and in developing the capacity, skills and effective working of the employees within the service
You must have a degree/diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent. Additional relevant qualifications are desirable. Possession of a driving licence is essential. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the Regulatory Services out of hours standby service.
