This is an excellent opportunity to work for the Council’s Regulatory Services team in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland. You will undertake the full range of environmental health enforcement, including public health and food safety, and work with the team who deal with many unique challenges including its rural geographical area, large number of private water supplies and a considerable food manufacturing and export market. There will be a requirement to manage your own district workload ensuring that environmental health standards are met and to protect public health.
We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health, hybrid working and opportunities for professional and personal development. Applicants should hold the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Diploma in Environmental Health or have received confirmation from REHIS of the equivalency of their qualifications. Consideration will be given to applications from newly qualified Environmental Health Officer, these aiming to sit their professional interview in 2023.
Applications will be accepted from registered Student/Graduate Environmental Health Officers intending to sit their REHIS professional examinations. In September 2023 A successful candidate in this case would be placed in a Graduate EHO role at £30,020 until you obtain the REHIS professional diploma.
This is a full time, permanent post within Dunoon. Working 35 hours across Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 with a one hour lunch break.
