Particulate Matter: Impacts, Challenges and Solutions
Poor air quality is known to have both health and economic impacts. The Interdepartmental Group on Costs and Benefits have estimated that particulate matter can reduce life expectancy by up to 6 months.
With lower PM10 objectives than the rest of the UK, and with challenging reductions to PM2.5 exposure by 2020, this one day conference will hear how Scotland’s air quality practitioners can take the lead on improving air quality.
Confirmed speakers:
Scottish and UK Legislation – Andrew Taylor, The Scottish Government
Health Impacts – Dr Colin Ramsay, Health Protection Scotland
Monitoring of particulate matter – Brian Stacey, Ricardo-AEA
Control of dust from construction / demolition – Dr Hugh Datson, Dustscan
