REHIS Guidance and Briefing Notes have been developed to meet demand on specific subject areas. Guidance and Briefing Notes are most commonly written by members of the relevant Working Group, on occasion forming a small sub-group for this purpose, or by the Council member with responsibility for the relevant subject areas. In certain instances Guidance is developed and issued in conjunction with other bodies.

Guidance and Briefing Notes are written to provide professionals and members of the public with information and guidance on a specific topic. They do not carry any legal power and more detailed guidance on a subject should be sought from the local environmental health service or a professional with detailed knowledge in the subject area in question.
