CPD
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities.
There is always the opportunity to learn more and with changing landscapes, legislation, guidance and simply the way society works, there is always the opportunity to update knowledge.
Learning is an essential element of growing as a professional and developing full potential.
The evidencing of this learning is vital to show commitment to professional development, not least should new employment be sought, but also to demonstrate competence to ‘do the job’, and where there may be such need in relation to legal proceedings.
CPD includes new learning and development by any means, which may be attending an event, in person or virtually, reading professional journals, researching issues electronically, meetings to discuss professional issues with colleagues.
The Royal Charter under which the Institute operates offers a unique opportunity for EHOs to achieve Chartered EHO Status.
