Meet Environmental Standards Scotland and find out about their Draft Strategic Plan, out for consultation now!
Environmental Standards Scotland has been established as a new Non-Ministerial Office to scrutinise compliance with, and the effectiveness of, environmental law and standards in Scotland, now that we have left the European Union.
ESS is currently consulting on its draft Strategic Plan. During the consultation period, ESS is hosting a free online information session on Wed 27 July 2022(10:00 - 11:00), aimed at businesses. At this session, the ESS team will take you through how they propose to scrutinise, investigate and secure improvements in public authorities’ compliance with environmental law, the effectiveness of environmental law, and the way it is being implemented and applied in Scotland. There will then be an opportunity to put your questions to the team.
ESS is keen to hear your views on how things are working from a business perspective, and whether you feel there are any areas of environmental law that could be improved. They will also share with you the initial conclusions from the Business Regulatory Impact Assessment of their Strategic Plan.
If you would like to participate on 27 July, or for more information, please contact ESS General Enquiries | firstname.lastname@example.org.
