Young Samanyika, the Malawian EHO who has visited Scotland twice in the last two years, has been elected as the first President of the re-launched Malawi Environmental Health Association (MEHA). Dr Steve Taulo was elected as the MEHA’s Deputy President. Steve has also visited Scotland in recent years. The Institute offers MEHA its continued support and sends its best wishes to Young and Steve, and to Paul Chunga, Ben Mitochi and Kingsley Lungu who, along with many Malawian environmental health colleagues, have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the re-launch. Bernard Forteath, President of the International Federation of Environmental Health and a past President of REHIS, and Tom Bell will travel to Lilongwe in May when Malawi hosts the 2nd All Africa Environmental Health Congress. The visit will also provide an opportunity for Bernard, Tom and MEHA representatives to further develop the long standing link between the two organisations.
