There are over 1600 private water supplies in Perth in Kinross with over 600 of these being Regulated supplies. They are spread over a large geographical area and include a wide variety of source types and catchments.

To help us to deliver upon our plans and aspirations, we are recruiting a permanent, full time Water Standards Co Ordinator to join our Food/Health & Safety Team within Regulatory Services.

The substantive office base is Pullar House, Kinnoull Street, Perth, PH1 5GD but the post will operate on a hybrid working arrangement as part of the service’s wider public responsibilities for the efficient delivery and administration of all private water functions.

The main duties of the post include:

• The day-to-day supervision and management of Perth & Kinross Councils Private Water Supply Team, including participation in the operational functions of the team.
• Allocation of work regarding the agreed sampling and risk assessment programmes.
• Undertaking a proportion of the allocated sampling programme and supply risk assessments
• Providing advice and support to private water supply users including the promotion, assessment, and administration of improvement grants.
• Consultation on planning applications where developments may create or impact existing private water supplies.
• Enforcement of legislation in accordance with the relevant water legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Collation of data in respect of private water supplies for submission and audit on an annual basis to the Drinking Water Quality Regulator.

You may also be required to undertake other functions and roles at a similar level, depending on service demand.

The work pattern is 36 hours per week and flexible working is offered.
