The Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR) is a web-based directory of over 1400 consultants providing advice on general health and safety matters. The Register was launched in 2011 to help give businesses requiring health and safety support or advice confidence in selecting a suitably qualified and experienced consultant. Membership of the Register is voluntary, but is only open to consultants who are members of a professional body at a defined level, have professional indemnity insurance and undertake continuing professional development.
OSHCR Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2010 currently embarking on a period of significant change. Its Board of Directors are members of the partnership of trade associations, professional bodies and related charities.
The Directors of OSHCR Ltd are seeking a new Chair to lead the Board for a term of three years from July 2019. This key role has responsibility for:
- Providing leadership to the Board and ensuring Directors fulfil their duties for the governance of OSHCR Ltd
- Driving the strategy and development of OSHCR Ltd.
- Initiating and developing relationships with key stakeholders, particularly those in enforcement, regulation and industry.
Applications are invited from individuals who have operated at a very senior level within business, governmental or charitable organisations, and who can commit up to 10 to 15 days per year.
The successful applicant will have experience of chairing a body with varied composition. He/she will be able to demonstrate skills in building consensus, dealing with the media and acting as a spokesperson, and have the ability to influence and manage relationships at a high level.
No remuneration is payable for this position, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
