Job Purpose:
- Responsible for the full range of operational duties in relation to Environmental Health. In addition, there may be a requirement to undertake the role of a specialist officer.
- Provide supervision, guidance and training to Technical Officers and Student Environmental Health Officers.
Highland Council will accept applications from people holding Environmental Health academic qualifications that require practical training to complete the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Scheme of Professional Practice to qualify as an EHO (or CIEH equivalent).
The required academic qualifications are an MSc or BSc (Hons) Environmental Health.
Graduate Trainee EHO appointment would be subject to employee making satisfactory progress with training. Training to gain the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health requires 12 months. Further details are available here.
