You will work independently within a team to contribute to the delivery of safe food in Glasgow and you will be expected to participate in all aspects of food enforcement including inspections, producing reports, taking formal action when necessary and food sampling. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and confident with an ability to display a flexible approach to the needs of the Council. A Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspections and a Higher Certificate in Food Standards Inspections OR a Diploma in Environmental Health, basic IT skills and an awareness of food safety enforcement practices within a local authority environment are essential. This is a part time post and you will be required to work 17.5 hours per week.

** A Higher Certificate in Food Standards Inspections will be essential from April 2019 however, candidates who do not currently possess this qualification will be considered and the appropriate training will be provided.
