The Scottish Government are currently seeking applications for the Head of Enforcement Delivery within Food Standards Scotland based anywhere in Scotland. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Food Standards Scotland (FSS) has a wide and diverse remit, encompassing policy, science and operational delivery across food and feed safety, standards and authenticity, together with diet and nutrition.

This post will sit within the new Local Authority Delivery Division and be responsible for supporting Local Authorities in delivering their Official Control functions in relation to food, leading on emergency exercises and food resilience functions for FSS and supporting FSS programmes of work related to EU Exit, Regulatory Strategy and Diet and Nutrition.

This post holder will be responsible for leading a team of 16 staff in managing all aspects of food law delivery undertaken by Local Authorities in Scotland. The post will have direct line management oversight for eight specialist B3 posts. The post holder will report to the Head Of Local Authority Delivery Division.

The job may be home-based although frequent attendance in the office in Aberdeen will be required. There will be some travel required within Scotland.
