A suitably qualified Environmental Health Officer is invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Environmental Protection team, which is part of the Service’s Environmental Health & Trading Standards Unit.

Applicants should hold the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Diploma in Environmental Health or have received confirmation from REHIS of the equivalency of their qualifications.

The successful candidate will undertake a full range of Environmental Protection team duties including Statutory Nuisance, Public Health, Housing, Animal Welfare and Licensing, Water Quality, Noise Control and Air Quality. They may also support the Food & Safety team in the delivery of Food Law, Occupational Health and Safety, Communicable Disease and Port Health.

You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the post. You must have excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting and IT skills. You must have the ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team. You must be mobile throughout the Council area.
