A suitably qualified Environmental Health Officer is invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Food & Safety Team, which is part of the Service’s Environmental Health & Trading Standards Unit.
It is essential you have a Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, or equivalent qualifications.
The successful candidate will undertake a full range of Food & Safety duties such as Food Law, Occupational Health and Safety, Communicable Disease, Port Health and Smoking Enforcement. They may also occasionally support the Environmental Protection team in the delivery of Noise Control, Air Quality, Statutory Nuisance, Public Health, Housing, Animal Welfare and Licensing and Water Quality.
You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the post. You must have excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting and IT skills. You must have the ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team. You must be mobile throughout the Council area.
