Environmental Health Officer

Argyll & Bute Council are looking to recruit a permanent Environmental Health Officer.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working for Argyll & Bute Council’s Regulatory Services team in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland.

You will undertake a range of work within environmental health although the principal focus will be food safety work in a challenging food sector, which includes approved fish and shellfish premises.

Successful applicants will operate from the Lochgilphead or the Oban office, covering a large geographic area, including islands.  A key member of an area based team, this post works with colleagues, businesses and the public in ensuring that environmental health standards are met and to protect public health.  We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health with responsibility for a specific geographical area, training and development opportunities, a good place to live and work and you will be joining a service which is committed to flexible working, the use of mobile technology and of continuous improvement.  We have a degree of flexible working using voice and video link technology.
