To cover maternity leave, an excellent opportunity exists for an Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Officer to join our team to the August 2025, working in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland. Working from the Oban office, you will undertake the full range of environmental health enforcement, and ideally to be qualified to carry out food safety work in the approved food sector (fish/shellfish) There will be a requirement to manage your own district workload (which will include travel and work on the islands of Mull, Tiree and Coll), whilst ensuring and protecting public health. We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, a relocation package (where appropriate) and a salary of £40,914 to £44,272)

Recognising the national shortage of Environmental Health Officers, the post may be filled as a Regulatory Services Officer (Salary £35786-£39819) and we welcome applications from candidates who are authorised food safety enforcement officers and hold the Higher Certificate in Food Hygiene/Food Control, or are working as an environmental health enforcement officer in local authorities.
