Following a recent service redesign, the opportunity has arisen for a Principal Environmental Health Officer (Public Health) within Argyll and Bute Council. The key remits are to lead on public health related issues, including private water supply regulation; day to day supervision and support to operational teams on public health issues and enforcement ; and to support service managers. This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced environmental health officer wishing to develop their career with a keen interest in this area of work
You will have proven experience supervising teams and in carrying out the full range of public health enforcement. The Principal EHO role also provides the opportunity and challenge for those wishing to develop their careers and move to a supervisory role, and to act as the Councils Depute Public Heath Competent Officer. You will have good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. good organisational skills and an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
The post is a hybrid post based in Lochgilphead although there is scope for this to change given flexible/hybrid/remote working arrangements and subject to the successful candidate’s ability to deliver the workload and challenges of the post.
