Speaker Biographies
Scott Abercrombie
Scott Abercrombie is an Associate Director at John Gilbert Architects, specialising in conservation architecture and sustainable retrofit. A RIBA/RIAS Conservation Accredited architect, his notable projects include award-winning conservation and retrofit at Canongate, Edinburgh, as well as the recent restoration of Provand’s Lordship. Throughout his career Scott has continually worked on traditionally constructed tenements, and will bring that knowledge, as well as the wider knowledge of the practice to the sessions.
Chris Morgan
Chris Morgan, Director at John Gilbert Architects, is an advanced RIAS-accredited sustainable design specialist with over 25 years of ecological design and Passivhaus expertise. Chris has successfully delivered innovative retrofit and decarbonisation projects, including the EnerPHit-standard refurbishment at Niddrie Road, Glasgow. He is the author of the Sustainable Renovation Guide, currently writing guidance for HES on the installation of ASHPs for traditional buildings, and updating supplementary guidance to the building regulations on energy and traditional buildings.
