The Northern Centre, in conjunction with Chimney Skills Training are delighted to be able to offer a virtual smoke nuisance course which aims to provide Environmental Health Officers and those working within the field of Environmental Protection with further guidance and information to assist with the investigation of smoke nuisance complaints. The course covers the following topics:
- What is smoke
- What is a smoke nuisance
- Combustion as a chemical reaction
- Incomplete combustion
- Installation
- Principles of flues and chimneys
- Main legislation, codes of practice, building standards, and BS/EN standards
The course will be delivered via Microsoft teams and will utilise ‘breakout rooms’ to allow for case studies to be discussed. There will be an opportunity for those who complete the course to sit the CITB qualification.
