ASH Scotland - IMPACT smoking and mental health for Third sector, NHS, Local Authority adult services

FREE training sessions on the adverse effects of smoking on mental health and mental health medication for Third Sector Support Workers (including Volunteers, Peer Mentors and Carers), NHS and Local Authority workers in adult services, providing support to people who have mental health problems. First a short e-learning module followed-up with a one or two hour session delivered through Zoom two weeks later.

Public Health Scotland - Introduction to Health Protection

An introductory course in health protection facilitated by staff from Public Health Scotland, NHS boards and other agencies.

The programme will be of interest to those who are recent appointments to public health and health protection and wish to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of health protection. This includes new public health registrars, environmental health officers, health protection nurses and epidemiologists/health care scientists. It may also be of interest to those undertaking the UK Register for Public Health Specialists.

National Pet College - Professional Programme in Inspecting Licensable Activities Involving Animals Scottish Legislation

In order to meet the needs of the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 the National Pet College has developed a new accredited programme. 

The course comprises of five half day (am) training sessions covering the theory knowledge required by inspectors to make informed, welfare focused decisions when licensing animal establishments.
