Investigative Interview Training, 28, 29 and 30 January 2025
This in-person, 3-day course in Investigative Interview Skills will be delivered by Barnsley and Barnsley, who have been successfully delivering all aspects of Investigation training to Local Authorities and Government Agencies for 14 years.
In addition to this we will have Applied Theatre who will talk us through nonverbal communication and the importance of understanding yourself and your behaviour in moments of high stress. Know your own triggers, being self-aware, building rapport and developing a relationship that engenders trust from the start.
A Procurator Fiscal will attend on Days 2 and 3 to assist with the practical elements of the course and to provide valuable insights into the legal aspects of the job.
The course will be tailored around the work of Authorised Officers and will include the skills relevant to work in all subject areas of the profession, including discussion around the Criminal Justice (Scot) Act 2016- Draft Code of Practice on the questioning and recording of questions, of persons suspected of committing offences.

The cost for the course is £550 for REHIS members and £800 for non-members, which includes all course materials, lunch and refreshments.
