Presentation’s synopsis
Dr Lara Diaz Garcia will give an overview of and look into the interesting world of bioacoustics applications and the research currently being done at Strathclyde University’s Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering.
About the speaker
Dr Lara Díaz García gained her BSc in Physics from the Universidad de La Laguna in Tenerife, Spain and her MSc in Acoustics and Music Technology from the University of Edinburgh. She then worked in adaptive optics for a year before pursuing her PhD in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering department of the University of Strathclyde. After completing her PhD in bio-inspired acoustic sensors, she is now a Research Associate at the Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering, also at Strathclyde. Her main research interests are bioacoustics and bio-inspiration for sensor design.
