REHIS Southern Centre in conjunction with Fife Council and the Health and Safety Executive are holding a Hand Arm Vibration Workshop for Environmental Health Officers and students/trainees are welcome.
Using hand-held power tools can cause hand-arm vibration problems causing significant ill health. This can cause painful and disabling (frequently permanent) disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and joints. Golf clubs, hotels and premises with extensive grounds frequently have very little knowledge or awareness of hand-arm vibration problems.
We are lucky to have two specialist inspectors from the HSE to explain what to look for during interventions and what type (if any) of enforcement should be carried out.
The workshop is free to REHIS members but there will be a small charge (£30) for non-members.
Due to the expected high demand for this workshop, numbers are restricted and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you wish to attend please complete attached form and return to; peter.ager@fife.gov.uk
