This workshop is the seventh in a series held around the UK by the Association of Port Health Authorities. The workshop aims to update delegates about current global developments and to improve consistency in the issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificates.
Delegates will need to bring a copy of the WHO Technical Handbook – 'Handbook for Inspection of Ships and Issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificates'. which can be purchased from WHO or downloaded here.
The training is interactive and involves moving around areas of a virtual vessel. Delegates will be expected to gather evidence from crew members present and by examining documentation. After rotating around the 3/4 areas, the groups will review the evidence gathered, make a decision as to the type of SSC to issue together with the ERF.
Participation in this event carries a maximum value of 5 hours (core activity) for the REHIS and CIEH Continuing Professional Development (CPD) schemes.
