The Eating Well for Older People course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and appreciation of the importance of nutrition and health for older people and how to support them to eat well.
This course will is available through the REHIS Approved Food and Health Centres.
The Elementary Cooking Skills course has been independently rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 4 with 1 credit.
The Elementary Food and Health course has been independently rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 5 with 1 credit.
The Elementary Food and Health Course is also available by e learning.
Candidates are still required to sit the REHIS examination at an Approved Training Centre
This Course is aimed at people who care for adults with a learning disability. It is based on the existing REHIS Food and Health Course but the course resources have been tailored to meet the needs of these important people.
The Elementary Nutrition Course aims to provide participants who work in food businesses preparing, producing and serving food with knowledge about basic nutrition and practical solutions about how to provide and promote nutritious and healthy choices.
This 6-hour course, developed in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and NHS Fife provides participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to run their own practical food activities. The course covers all aspects of planning, delivering, evaluating and/or assessing a cooking group and includes a practical session for participants to put their knowledge into practice.
It would be useful for anyone working with food in any setting who wishes to deliver practical food activities/cooking groups.
The REHIS Introduction to Food and Health is a 3 hour non-examined course that aims to provide participants with a basic knowledge and understanding of healthy eating, nutrition and health.
