Emergency First Aid at Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work course has been independently credit rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 6 with 1 credit.

First Aid at Work

The Frist Aid at Work course has been independently credit rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at  6 with 3 credits.

First Aid At Work (Requalification)

In addition to the First Aid at Work course, centres are permitted to offer a requalification covering the same topics as those in the first aid at work course syllabus however the training and assessment should be at least 12 hours (not including breaks) over a minimum period of two days.

A first aider can attend a First Aid at Work requalification course up to three months before the expiry date on their standard First Aid certificate.

Mental Health First Aid

The REHIS Mental Health First Aid course, launched in 2025, aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required for the responsibility of the role of a mental health first aider.

Course content includes:

• To provide participants with underpinning knowledge about the principles of mental health first aid and mental health conditions
• To start to develop the skills and increase confidence in approaching and/or being approached with a mental health problem or illness
• To recognise how to promote a culture for good mental health within a workplace setting
• To describe the role and responsibility of the Mental Health First aider
• The importance for mental health first aiders to maintain self-care and ensure resilience
